Project Thread! Home/work/side job - What do you have going on (Pics)

I'm doing a side job for a buddy of mine that has a family owned business. I was able to get the building material (insulation R-30x 24x48, R-19 x 15.5 x 93) direct and cheap, He had the forklift, so all he had to do was boom my fat ass up on a makeshift platform, man did that thing have some wobble and play it in, I had to bring me sea-legs, reaching over extending myself was a bit concerning.

I decided to employ duct straps to help support the batts so in the event one of his brain-dead workers rubs the rafters with a vault, it will give the added support to hold it..It took longer to move the vaults, than it did to install the area..Fast cash, 3 days!

Nice job there brother...how high up you had to go? Using a forklift as a work platform does get dicey IMO.

Thank brutha, the bottom of my feet may have been about 15-20ft ish, maybe, not really sure, but It was up there.. I just didn't like the platform tilting as much as it did, it would sudden drop like 4-5 inches fast before it caught, enough to feel it in the gut and get your attention

Oh yes I've done jobs on rickety scaffolds/ladders before. My fave was when I was drywalling the high ceiling in a new addition on my brother's home and the end of a 4x12 sheet that was not completely attached cracked and hit me square on the head and knocked me over. I was able to save myself by grabbing onto a nearby skylight's frame. My brother heard the crash of the ladder falling and came in and saw me hanging off the skylight. I was in a fucking daze lol. Dangerous work indeed!

Bought a townhouse condo, now planning to put up crown molding all around the living room/dining area. Bathroom also will demolish and replacing the tile floor and installing new toilet and vanity along with new lighting. New front and side deck doors. Gonna look a million bucks when done.
