memorial day is a day to remember those who died in battle. it was originally called decoration day, after the civil war famillies took the day to lay flowers at graves. the date was chosen cause there were no battles fought on this date. later after world war 1 it became known as memorial day. Veterans day is a day to honor military citizens. just saying
