Measure twice and cut once!! Lol. Stone is tricky make sure your using a wet saw and just take your time. Have a good 3ft level and lots of mastic each stone is a different thickness when you start a side try and use the thickest one, then you can just add more mastic to the others to make them level. Remember grout hides a lot of sins. Don't worry to much about it being perfect. The more natural or organic it looks the better. If you chip a piece or corner fill it with grout, no one will know but you. Have fun. I love working with stone and tile.Well I've put it off all winter and now it's time. Building a outdoor BBQ. The stone came in and I just bought a tile saw. Any tips or tricks?
This is the kind of stuff I do. If those are the stacked stones I'm thinking of then they don't require grout. Anyway the best advise I could give to a homeowner for a project like this is to find a guy who does this for a living and pay him 2-3 hundred, or whatever going rate is, for a day and work with him all day. Have the are cleaned up,set up, and prepped before he comes. By the end of the day you should have a good grasp on how to do it and the little tricks that help. $200bucks is nothing for an investment of that size. I just did a fireplace with stone like that. I'll look for the pics. Good luck
Did you build the patio cover or is it prefab? Go with granite counters, depending where you live it's very cheap now. You could even use granite tile.
No, its from Costco. Its a 10x14 and I think it was 1199.00. It was a pain to out together but its built really well and well worth the price IMO.Did you build the patio cover or is it prefab? Go with granite counters, depending where you live it's very cheap now. You could even use granite tile.

Did a bunch today and man it's looking awesome! No issues yet. I have a feeling when I have to cut around the vents it's going to be a pain in the ass.
Now that took some patients and skill!!
Here is a crazy cut for you. This backsplash was a nightmare lol
