Hi everyone, I just got my lab results. I will see the Doctor next week.

Testosterone, Serum 289ngdL

Free Testosterone 7.5 pgml

PSA level is 0.30

A ton of stuff was tested. Everything else looks good.

I am in my early 40's with lots of the classic symptoms. I am guessing that TRT would help me. The Doc I am seeing is at a men's clinic. Quick question. I was wondering if the lab results were low enough to make going the regular doctor route worth while? Save some money on scripts vs paying all out of pocket. My #s seems a little high for that from what I have read online. Any thoughts?

Depending on which lab is used, technically you may be "in range" but that number is super low IMO and you would absolutely benefit from either a re-start or TRT.
Did you have your LH and FSH tested?

Actually 240 is considered the "cut off" for many doctors. So many of them, sadly won't treat you unless you are SUB 240. Although some may try using Clomid therapy at 25-50mgs as a first line of treatment, before agreeing to creams or injections.

It really depends on his expertise and his overall personal beliefs tbh.

I worked in the Med Field and worked side by side with tons of Endo's and I could personally school pretty much all of them on HRT/TRT..with a mere BS comparatively (which is not a good thing) Most of them are not well versed and that is the issue. Even the ones that are well versed may demonize Testosterone and treat it as if they are prescribing a narcotic for example. They treat it like a dangerous drug foolishly..when it is a Miracle Drug that should be respected and not feared imo.

Some doctors will suggest that you are "in range" if you are above 240nanos. Mind you I would argue just the opposite. If you are 289 and the cut off is 240 (meaning you are hypogonadal)...this means you are in lowest range possible and barely functioning. Low T levels will end up in muscle loss, fat gain, potential mood swings, depression, lack of energy, sex drive, you name it. When you go to the doctor, make sure to STRESS to him that you are experiencing these symptoms and this is NEGATIVELY affecting your quality of life. Make sure you say this..Trust me on this.

If you cannot find a doctor that will treat you adequately and you do not want to do Black Market option, PM me down the road and I can give you a legit Online Anti Aging Clinic. Of course, most people simply "self medicate" because it is much less expensive.

In that case, the one forum sponsor I can vouch for personally is Dispense Quick. But there are many other great sponsors here as well, that many others can vouch for. Good luck.

Ok, I have them here, plus I will add what the lab ranges are from these items. I went to Labcorp.

LH 6.4 Reference Range: 1.7-8.6 mIU/mL

FSH 5.5 Reference Range: 1.5-12.4 mIU/m

Thanks so much for the info!

I have been struggling with fatigue, gained weight over the last few years and am having a heck of a time losing it. I have suffered from mild depression and anxiety for years. In fact, I take a SSRI for that right now. I am trying not to get too excited over TRT, but it is hard not to with all the positive stuff I have read.

I would say that with pretty low T and those levels for LH and FSH you'd be more primary than secondary (hypogonadism).
Injections/TRT would be your likely route.
Doubt that you'd benefit from a re-start at this point.

You have plenty of options.
As mentioned above, try and find a TRT specialist and avoid endo's and PCP's.
I go through PrimeBody and couldn't be happier, especially having gone through 3 other terrible docs first.

Are the LH and FSH levels low? It looks like they are in the middle of the lab range, but I am beginning to understand there is more to he story with these ranges.

^^^ Spot on, IMO.

Some guys do get lucky with endos or even a great PCP but that's rare for sure. Could help keep costs down though given how much the TRT side of medicine tends to get rejected by insurance.

No, the LH is high. That's what indicates primary hypogonadism. Your hypothalamus and pituitary are pumping out the relevant hormones at a healthy level to bring up T levels but the testes are responding with a piddly 289 ng/dl.

You *could* give clomid or aromasin a try just for yuks and see what the response is, assuming none of your HPTA is actually pegged at full on production. The hope would be that your LH would get much higher, out of range even, and the testes would in turn double production. Or something. Probably unlikely, but on the off chance it works it would be much easier and cheaper than pinning T. And maybe HCG. And possibly taking an AI anyway for E2 control. Even if it fails, taking an AI or SERM will still be interesting to see whether / how much LH increases, and whether T increases at all or a bunch. More clues about the root cause.

Did you get an E2 assay in your labs?

Depends on the doc but that 289 level is way low so you ought to be able to find a conventional doc for TRT, I'd think.

According to my family practice physician, thats within range and will not treat.

Is this Estradiol? If it is, I did get a result. 25.7 pg/ml.

This is going to be interesting or sure. I have been dealing with fatigue and just feeling like I can't get out of my own way for quite some time now. It actually felt good to see there might be an actual cause and treatment for me. But, at the same time, different sites I read say that my level is fine. I am definitely going to try the TRT treatment if I can. The clinic I am going to offers Testosterone Cypionate +HCG + Anastrozole. If it worked, it is well worth the money. I am self employed, so feeling good definitely helps being more productive.
