Get Shredded!
They are going to get sick of winning!
Carrier AC is staying in the US.

Oh no!!!

You mean we are not going forward with globalization!

Damn, now we might keep some jobs here.

You know utc owns carrier right?

Connect more dots

There will not be any import taxes on Chinese or other countries goods. They would just do the same to us on goods that we export to them. It would be what they call a trade war.

What this country needs to do is incentivies companies in this country to stay and where feasible bring jobs back.

And be realistic, there are some manufacturing jobs that are never coming back.

What we need to do in this country is to develop new high tech jobs that other countries cannot compete.

IML Gear Cream!
$3 per hour is the wage they pay in Mexico. Holy shit.

Labor rates in China and Vietnam are somewhere between $.50 & $.75 and hour.

How do you bring jobs back to US when that is what we are competing with?

Pretty sure you know the answer to that. Tariffs for imports and tax breaks for USA companies that keep jobs here.

Please let her explain it!

It's leveraging of defense contracts...what pays for defense contracts?
Utc owns Hamilton sunstrand (formerly Hamilton standard), sikorsky, pratt...which btw..all of those used to be separate entities and didn't share the same umbrella. How many jobs do you think were lost for those acquisitions...

Corporate America making deals with our climate change..and our taxes..
And everyone praises nearly a thousand jobs! Like it's the lottery..what about the other estimated 400-1000 they didn't keep?

Relaxed environmental restrictions sound like a great idea for my children to inherent

Look..I don't expect to get any die hard trump fans to open their eyes so I'm done with the subject

To tell the truth..I hope I'm wrong. I hope it all turns out peachy for everyone. My households main income is from weapons of mass destruction so you know..even if it's doesn't I still get my bacon.
I'll happily eat crow if everything goes swell.

Like wise. Good luck!

No doubt the US has the highest corporate tax rate and just another reason to keep money offshore. But all the butt hurt socialists get pissed the second they hear companies get their taxes lowered but that is what will bring more jobs back.

Get Shredded!
I'm actually more butt hurt that my taxes go up under proposed tax reform
we fall in a weird tax bracket
I also don't see what removing head of household tax exemption accomplishes

Stop looking at the small picture. There will be no tariffs, trade wars or any of that other horseshit. Foreign investors already own us and Trump is too fucking stupid to see it. China already devalues their own currency to keep our debt lower.
1000 jobs LOL give me a break.

China and U.S. Debt

The largest portion of U.S. debt, 68 cents for every dollar or about $10 trillion, is owned by individual investors, corporations, state and local governments and, yes, even foreign governments such as China that hold Treasury bills, notes, and bonds.

Foreign governments hold about 46% of all U.S. debt held by the public, more than $4.5 trillion. According to the Treasury, the largest foreign holder of U.S. debt is China, which owns more than $1.24 trillion in bills, notes, and bonds or about 30% of the over $4 trillion in Treasury bills, notes, and bonds held by foreign countries.

In total, China owns about 10% of publicly held U.S. debt. Of all the holders of U.S. debt China is the third-largest, behind only the Social Security Trust Fund's holdings of nearly $3 trillion and the Federal Reserve's nearly $2 trillion holdings in Treasury investments, purchased as part of its quantitative easing program to boost the economy.

The current $1.24 trillion in U.S. debt is actually slightly less than the record $1.317 trillion held by China in 2013.

Yeah! Fuck it! Lets just call it quits.

You have to make it attractive to keep jobs in the US, I agree. The big balls, little brain approach hasn't worked ever. That's all I'm saying.
I'm happy for the workers at Carrier, kinda. They are going to have to take cuts to keep their jobs.

How many TRILLION did Obama add? How come libs never complain about his spending?

Plenty I'm sure. But over the past 4 years China's ownership did go down some. Probably through trade agreements or some smoke and mirrors.
My point isn't democrat vs republican. It is more geared toward the bravado that we are going to strong arm countries that already own us. That's the bigger picture. It sounds good to a pissed off working class, but it isn't possible. The cost of doing business in the US is high and corporate incentives are expensive. Wages and benefits for workers are expensive. If we want to keep jobs here in the US we all better realize it will only mean one thing, higher prices. And the only way we as consumers can help is stop buying imported junk. I'm a union member and I've preached this for 35 years. I'm all for corporate, labor success. It's about American success.

Here's a great read on national debt...as it states you can win any argument regarding debt depending on which way it's calculated but points out that attributing the nation's debt to any given president isn't entirely accurate.

NOT and Obama defense btw...but a way at looking at at least three sides of the big picture.
