Since the MFL sub forum is down and I can't update my log, I thought I would give a brief update.

I'm getting ready for a meet 3/12/16. Looking to go 755/460/740. Looks like things are on track.

Bodyweight is chilling around 233, so the cut to 220 shouldn't be too hard.

Thanks bro. I'll try to keep some updates coming.

Good stuff bro! The first rep on that squat, man you crushed it, looked easy, what do you think you'll single in the squat?

Here's last weekends training. Weights are all lower and slower than last week, but that is typical after a heavy week.

Bench press hurt, but my hips seemed to move fairly well on squat and deadlift. I should be positioned for some big PRs after a deload.

Awesome progress since I first started following your threads McD! Keep up the good work!

Hey man, new on here. I did my meet last fall at 220lb, 560,405,555. You are quite a bid ahead of me, what does your off season look like gear/training?

Thanks in adavance

IML Gear Cream!
Looking good bro, interested in what monkey asked above but more of the gear usage. Just wondering out of curiosity how yours compares to some of the 220's on a team we have in our state.

Thanks for all the support guys.

As far as your questions..
A high level overview of my annual training plan looks something like this:
Off-season - 4-10 weeks - I stay flexible with this. By the time the off season gets here I'm usually a little burnt out mentally and physically. This is time to recharge. I aim to get in the gym 2-3 times per week and keep the workouts fun. This might mean trying new movements or going for a random PR. The most important thing is to not do the competition movements or go heavy (85%+). During this time Im usualloy on enough Test that I keep the majority of my bodyweight, even if it is a little softer. Last time it was 750mg Test/week.

Hypertrophy Phase - 4-12 weeks - Drugs are re-introduced - and begin training 5x/week again. I focus on higher rep ranges - 5-8 reps on movements resembling the compeition movement, but usualy targetting a weakness or extending the ROM, such as a Buffalo Bar BP or Stiff Leg Deadlift standing on 2" blocks. The primary goal here is hypertrophy and some strength. The main goal is accumulate volume which drives hyper trophy and builds a strength foundation. Lots of sets, lots of reps, lots of assistance.
Drugs here are higher, but are substances easy to tolerate. Last time it was:
1200mg Test ISO
450 NPP
400 Mast
MK-677 5x/week
I grow well on Test and NPP, and the NPP and mast give me some strength for training.

Strength+Peaking
- 10-16 weeks - Drugs get more intense, volume steadily decreases. During the Strength phase reps per set gets down to the 3's assistance disappears, and all volume is from the number of sets. For example I did 9-12 sets of 3 in a heavy bench press workout on several occasions. Plenty of work to maintain mass. Lots of heavy weights to build strength. Peaking sets are 1-3 reps, with very few sets, and no assistance. Peaking phase is short because if it is too long you will be prone to injury and you will eventually lose mass from such little volume. The goal of the peaking phase is to be able to display the progress made in the previous phases. That means getting skilled with heavy weights and developing confidence.

Drugs here are more intense. For this meet during the Strength phase I used:
1000mg Test Cyp
500mg Tren E
400mg Mast
HGH Frag 5x/week
Then during the peak:
Superdrol
Epistane
Halo (last 3 weeks only)

After the meet, repeat Hypertrophy, Strength, Peaking one more time before another off-season.

So you never go lower than 750 a week? How does your blood pressure look?

I haven't in a while. The offseason before last I ran 500mg/week.

Blood pressure isn't awful, but not ideal either. I take baby aspirin to help. Sometimes Cialis if I'm getting a lot of nose bleeds

Why not take tada every day and donate blood every 56 days? Would help a lot. If you have a nurse friend you could really self donate every 6 weeks probably.

Pissed me off reading this because I pretty much had to stop powerlifting. My hips and patella tendons just arent built for it. deads are fine, and once I switched to false grip my bench problems/injuries with forearm flexors and constant lateral intramuscular septum issues (runs between the triceps and brachialis) stopped. But my hips and patella tendons just hate heavy squats. The final straw for me was my last buffalo bar box squat session to a mid box. last rep was 600x1 and two days after my knees hurt so bad I couldnt walk up stairs. lasted a month. I really wanted to stay at it long enough to try for a 2000 total.
anyways, enough hijack.

I don't have a nurse friend and I'm not allowed to donate because I was born in Germany (USA military base, parents both served). I have to schedule a phlebotomy and my hematologist didn't think it was necessary just yet. Should probably see him soon. It's been a few months.

But I understand your frustration. Chasing after the top 20 all time ranking. It's hard to stay healthy and make progress.

The worst part is, it isn't like the NFL. No one tells you its time. You're forced to make the choice.
