I deeply apologize for my delay fellows..

Family matters come first..

My poor tiny lil wife got rear ended and took a massive blast, herniated 4 dics, broke her jaw shattered her teeth, with a slew of other issues...The poor thing really got blasted, right in front of my house too, I heard the whole thing and came running out.. I never wish to see something like that again!

She ok, home now and rested, and im just trying to earn "husband of the year award"... cooking, cleaning, kids on bus, homework, bath time, story time,, shopping, making insurances calls driving her to specialists..ect ect..

I never want to have the job of a wife, kudo's to this woman!

Again, shes fine, it's not as bad as it sounds, but it wast good either...

The guy that nailed her was on his cell phone... He's getting fried... chick-ching$$$

Hope for a quick recovery! Hope you guys are not buried by snow!

Yeah we're buried... but we ok.. thank god all the DR vists are over till next week.. so shes in GREAT health and spirit now... hers moms up to help take care of her as I go back to work...

dude... insurance, WOW, what a nightmare...I never had an accident so I never delt with this before.. it has been nightmarish..

we only only owed 6k on the car, and the blue book was valued at 9-10k... so they paided what was owed and even gave is the rest for value... so in the end everything worked out ok.... now this fucker is gonna pay the med bills, we're not ones to sue.. but this dude hit her as she was making a left turn "stopped"... he hit her full speed, blasted her good...

Glad to hear you are back Godspeed to both of you.

... and yes we got blasted here too!

Insurance is terrible anywhere you go vision. My wife backed out of our driveway and was starting to pull forward and the neighbor across the street t-boned her with the back of her car and they are trying to call it 50/50. The lady admitted she was late and didn't look.

Glad your wife is on the mend. Do not settle anything until she is 100% healed. I got a lawyer last accident I was in cause insurance was so bad. Best decision of my life really. They dealt with all the nightmare bs and I focused on getting healthy.

Yeah, insurance is the reason our healthcare system is so fucked up. When I can pay $58 for a blood test (where everyone makes a profit) and get the same tests done as the $800 blood test my doctor ordered, you know something is wrong.

Glad she is one the mend, that sounds horrific!

Same thing happened to me, but luckily I only had torn rotator cuffs which have healed now. Advice for you: The other driver's insurance company will call and pressure you to take a payout and sign saying that's all they have to give. Do not do that. With me, I thought I was just sore, so I took a payout of $1000 on the spot and signed that it was all finalized. Well, my soreness went away everywhere after about a week, except in the back/top of my shoulders. I finally got in to see a Dr and they referred me to an orthopedic specialist, and then found out I had torn rotator cuffs from bracing myself on the steering wheel. Thank GOODNESS I didn't have to have surgery, but I still had way more than $1000 out of pocket. Moral of the story - Do not sign away anything until you are SURE she's fully healed. Good luck!!! And thank you for being a great husband. I am blessed with an amazing husband as well, and I am thankful every single day. She's lucky to have you :)

IML Gear Cream!
Insurance is absolutely horrible here! My son was t boned months ago , we tried to do the right thing and didn't get a lawyer because my sons friend was driving . It was the other persons fault. My sons friend made a left turn and the van came across the four way intersection at 45 mph and hit the passanger side door where my son was sitting ! Had to go to hospital in ambulance. Luckily he had minor injuries. There where witnesses also . Oh and the old man who was on all sorts of depression meds and other things had a dog in his lap while driving the van. Anyway , my sons hospital bills hadn't been paid, and we are fighting months later to get his bills paid and loss of work !

The most important thing is your wife is getting the help she needs! Also, she is lucky that you are there to be the great dad and husband that you are! She is lucky to have you during this scary and chaotic time! Your a good man vision! Prayers to you and the family!

Thats exactly whats happening here,, the soreness is going away in her arms, and NOW she cant move her left arm... she almost wishes it was sore again... alomost like the tissue was acting like a split when it was swolen...so many injuries are coming out as the days go on....

dude.. her teeth has her in agony, I never ever seen this lil thing cry like this,,,she told me that she cant live like this and if it continues she'll end her self... I never heard her speak like this...I sit there like "wtf do I do?".... She refuses those dope drugs, we dont do that shit, but i told her at this time shes gonna need to take something...I told her I could make some phone calls and score some heavy shit ( that pissed her off that I admitted I knew people), but it was only from small talk in the gym and shit...

She's on the sofa now as we speak, doing well..I made he coffee, I cleaned the house last night so her whole day will be relaxing...

I swear I never had her cry on my shoulder the way she has the past few days...shes worried that she will be one of those limping people that you see on stores and shit...shes only 42 and looks 31'ish

I heard once that after a crash, you feel more injuries DAYS later... dude, NO JOKE!

Heres the kickers, her car dont look bad at all, looks like it just needs a new truck... his car is wrecked... im was confused when i seen this... come to find out, her car is totaled, because the kinetic energy had to go somewhere I was thinking... it sure did... her whole frame is twisted, "something about the rear wheel thingy is destroyed" ... when I seen the wreck it just didnt look right... the mechanic said that car took all the energy to the under frame, it sent her flying into the roof and the windshield...

by the way... I been doing all the cooking... listen... PINTEREST fuckin rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

family first always , buddy , everybody understand

you brew , you will be mine , that's it , LoL

What a total Bummer Vision. I hope she heal fast and I would speak a lawyer if you don't already have one. At the very least they will make sure you get into Physical Therapy which she will want and most likely need. I've been down this road before and PT was a major part of my healing properly

we're new to this type of situation.... any suggestions on first steps? we have hosp reconds and police reports so far, and dentist records as well.... do we just call a lawyer from here on out or get therapy and take it from there?

Welcome back buddy . Man you've had a rough year. I'm not the sueing type either but that kind of back injury and facial injuries my haunt down the road. I only say this after seeing my old man in a truck that got crushed by a delivery truck . He got nothing and has back trouble to this day 15 plus years later. Watch what you or she signs.

I know what she is going through mentally, and that is harder than the physical part believe it or not.

I see lots of pain pill addictions as a pharmacist, but it hardly ever happens in people without addictive behaviors. (It's not always the fault of the person that they get hooked - it's a genetic thing they have to overcome). But in someone like her who hates taking anything, she won't have to worry about that. Her body can't heal as quickly if her pain level is that high all the time. So tell her to take some meds from the doctor so her body can relax and do its thing. Nerves take months to regenerate, and it's not fun. But as long as she can feel, at least she knows they're still intact.

I don't know where you are, but go here and find the closest AO chiropractor to you.

http://www.atlasorthogonality.com/PatientSite/aboutAO.html

They are a specialty chiropractor that uses a different method of adjustment safe for people with traumatic injuries. And they are amazing!!! I was attacked and almost killed 15 years ago by a guy I was on a first date with - took a bunch of blows to the face and side of the head among other things. I was in pain for 10 years before finding them! I go every 6-8 weeks and will forever, but it's worth it.

And yes, Pinterest is awesome!! I spend too much time there.

I'm a girl . It's ok. Just wanted to tell you - happens a lot here where everyone is a guy. Lol

Yes, chiro is legit. Absolutely. People complain that they're just trying to take your money bc of having to go back often in the beginning and then periodically for readjustments. People who say that don't understand the body. When something is out of align, the muscles attached to the area shift (which causes other areas to misalign due to compensating for it). They get new muscle memory. So the adjustment has to be done frequently at first so that the muscle memory can be corrected. Once that's done, going back is required periodically basically because life happens. For example, my job requires that I look down at the counter a lot - checking prescriptions, writing things, counting pills, etc. This is terrible for my neck, and Im constantly undoing the adjustments. When I sleep I can wake up sometimes and know that my shoulders need to be fixed again if I slept on my side too long, etc.

But they are legit. They put your skeleton back where it needs to be to get rid of nerve compression and minimize/prevent formation of bone calcification that can result in permanent nerve compression.

AO gave me my life back. Most chiros won't touch someone with a severe neck injury or other unstable traumatic injury bc the method they use is too dangerous for those people. AO doesn't twist or crack anything, but their methods work just as well if not better. The first visit they will do X-rays and a general work up. Then she will go back once the dr has reviewed and done 3D calculations of how she needs to be adjusted. She won't even feel the adjustment happen, but she will feel better afterwards (always ice the adjusted area afterwards especially in the beginning since the muscles and bones have been shifted).

Oh...as a side note, but important. Almost all prescribed strong pain meds cause constipation. This is a side effect that doesn't go away, but gets worse the longer she takes them. If she's taking anything like this, you want to prevent that before she gets miserable. Get Senna-S or the generic (vegetable laxative with stool softener). She should take it every day that she's on pain meds, unless she gets diarrhea, then stop til things are normal again and restart.
***not pleasant to talk about, but it is real and will save her additional discomfort***

Chirp is great if you get a good one. Lots of ones out there suck. I had a bad one and he tried to just eat up my PIP money from insurance.

I got the most relief from acupuncture actually. I was on heavy meds and she put a needle in a spot and said you will no longer be plugged up. Go straight home. I had to stop on the way home and go, I couldn't wait.

Car accidents have one of the lowest claim payouts, contrary to what is said out there or the attorney commercials that are all over the place. Of course, it varies "a little" state to state. Average claim (OTD) is under $20k. That's is other than death.

So that is car replacement, medical bills and $20k. With an agreement any future damage or pain to her body as a result of the accident are not their responsibility.

Which is terrible for someone with a spine/back injury.

Wish you the best.

Make sure she is taking the ibuprofen with food, as much as she can eat anyway. She can take Prilosec (omeprazole) daily and that will help her stomach. I would ask for Percocet If Vicodin isn't working. It's stronger and she needs that given what she's dealing with. Both of these can be taken simultaneously with ibuprofen. It makes sense that the ibuprofen works though bc it is antiinflammatory, Vicodin is not.

I wish your wife a speedy recovery.

You've described some very traumatic injuries and if you did go to a chiro for them the first thing that chiro should tell you is to seek actual medical treatment.
Some people love chiropractic and if it actually works for them I think it's great...for them. Chiros are not equipped to deal with traumatic injuries, IMO.

Some people feel they have good results with chiro...I am not one of them.
I've always come out of the chiro worse off than going in.
You cannot see nerve and soft tissue damage on an x-ray and chiros do not do MRI's and C/T's.

Remember, a chiro does not have a medical degree.

I've found that an osteopathic physician (a real doctor) who can do spinal manipulations when necessary and prescribe meds when needed is far superior to any chiro.
Not to mention, they will order the proper scans to fully diagnose the problem.

Also, take the pain pills as opposed to handfuls of nsaids. Nsaids contributed to my CKD. They are hard on the kidneys.

Insurance companies suck ass. Find an attorney. Not just any attorney...consult your friends, family, coworkers and online reviews.
Attorneys are a necessary evil when dealing with the big bad insurance companies.

BTW: Are you in a no-fault state?

Someone T-Boned me in my E500 Benz. Totaled the car. I had severe nerve damages and Breaks T6-T11. The nerve damage was the worse part. I had 6 surgeries over 7 years long after my settlement. Two were considered experimental that I had to pay for. The other drivers insurance fought hard on the point that I couldn't prove nerve damage or pain even thou two of my neurosurgeons testified. After the first 3 surgeries I still was on 10-15 vics a day to make it through the day. Even after my car was replaced and received a settlement I was upside down over the 7 years of costs. While not her fault, remember your health insurance rates will go up over the years if her treatment takes years to resolve. People forget that part of it.

Document everything and start making a copy of all her medical records to keep at home. Don't be quick to settle, as most people do because the costs start adding up. My case took 2 years, where I had to pay everything that my insurance company didn't pay. When I settled, my insurance got their share first, then my attorney and then me. But my rates didn't go down. It's a no win situation.

Good luck to you and your wife.

Sucks your girl got banged up, good to hear she is doing better.
