That is Juliana Malacarne. She took 1st at the Olympia last year. She is certainly the contender, but she doesn't have the fan backing that DLB has. Pay attention specifically to the broad shoulders and the legs between the two.
DLB is and will always be America's bodybuilding sweetheart.
 
I follow her quite a bit...get damn sick of the sticks or fat fucks saying she looks like a man or whatever they have to say...and if the situation arose, would walk across a bed of nails to have a chance to slam her for an hour or two....with all do respect of course.

She gained my respect the day I watched her train in this vid. HOLY FUCKING WILL POWER!

 
All of her videos say something about her...not only is she intense but, has fun while she is doing it...she is an inspiration to many women that truly want to be fit...going back to my last post...I think she is just gorgeous.

Physique is tricky thing. You have to be right in the middle between being too soft and being too hard. The night before, she was on the treadmill trying to get ready when she should have been sleeping. Her husband Rob told her that she didn't look ready.

DLB's quads look like they belong on another persons body.
I love DLB for bringing a positive (for the most part) spotlight to women's bodybuilding, But the fact that she's straight up deceiving her uninformed followers irks me. If you're going to compete in a non-tested division just keep your mouth closed about the drugs. I was watching her interview from the day or so before she stepped on stage, it was very obvious she was trying to talk with a higher pitched voice and having a hard time with it.... At any moment it sounded like her voice was going to crack.

Juliana has the better physique, no question about it. Her symmetry is out of control flawless and just flows.

There's just no comparing the two, Dana would have to work 10 years to come even close to Juliana, if it was even possible. Juliana has those Brazilian genetics, pretty hard to beat.

Imho DLB fits the catagory better for physique...juliana needs to move up in class..she gettin to big and hard for this catagory...

Juliana weighs 122lbs (huge right?) and looks tiny on the stage next to the other girls. Watch the call outs and actually see them next to each other. She brings a fullness that is unrivaled, but if she is too big than almost every other girl on that stage is also.

I respect dlb for the attention she brings to the sport, but she will never touch juliana's physique. If dlb was the standard, we'd have to throw symmetry out the window and put popularity in its place.

But there is the problem. There isn't a class to move "up too" per say. Women's bb is done. They created physique for competitors not as big as women's bb, but if the biggest gal always wins, I'm thinking it will be right back to where bb was within a few years. I like both of these ladies. They obviously bust their asses, I just wish dlb would quit the constant duck face all the time 😜

Definately 2 of the top girls i just see 2 different catagorys on the same stage is all...and i think in this case the prize will goto the bigger girl....

Kind of the issues they had in Europe with this mess...and a mens division they did away with as well and seem voting for bigger bulkier was the fav...but in some catagorys this should actually go against your score.......

Womans physique to me isnt semetry like men...its way different
.its a long sleek look...sharp shoulders and tight waist...theres nothing semetrical in a womans upper to lower half...jmo...i could never be a judge...haha...love the sport thouhg and its ashame they took away bb from woman.....so now where do these woman go that dedicated there lives to the sport?

Long sleek look with "sharp shoulders" is figure. That's why I like physique, girls like me who will never be "long and sleek" have a place to go. Though I hope they do not phase this into a mass contest, cause some of the pros are way bigger than I want to be.

Btw. Juliana is the smaller of the two lol.

Lol. She is a tiny thing 😉 maybe "fuller" a better word. Don't want to see it go to "mass" either. Wish they would have left the women's bb for the gals that want to do it. Too many different classes already apparently 😒

If and I'm saying a BIG if I were to compete it would be Physique. Me long and lean? Not happening lol.

Juliana appears bigger because of her conditioning, and muscle fullness. She's also been in the bodybuilding industry much longer than Dana, so that gives her a one up as well.

I really don't think Physique is going to call for bigger and bigger gals. They've slowly started to phase out BB-ing because the women on stage have become something between man and woman. While I can appreciate the hard work and dedication it takes to get to be someone like Anne Freitas or Iris Kyle, they're quite hard to look at and I believe that's why BB-ing is getting the ax.

A couple of weeks ago I was working legs at the gym. I thought I was all alone, but this amazing athlete was staying in the back room. She came out and to go use the microwave. During her stay, we talked a bit and aside from a low voice she is the sweetest lady you could know. My gym turns out a lot of incredible athletes. The most aggressive ladies are the physique contestants. The incredible women bodybuilders seem to exercise a lot more self control and discipline in all aspects of their lives.
