Hello! I just recently joined and have already learned a lot and appreciate the direction and experience of the members here.
I'm 45 years old and came back to lifting after not lifting since I was 26. I never took anything when I was younger and always had a strong bench at a light body weight. Even in college I had a natural BP of 405lbs and squats for reps over 500lb at a bodyweight of 140lbs. Travel, career and being sedentary took me to being overweight. I had hypertension and was pre-diabetic. I did a simple but tough diet change earlier this year. I cut out all carbs and all sugars and ate as much meat and green vegetables as I wanted. I lost 40lbs in less than 40 days and my blood pressure went down from 164/120 to 114/59 and blood sugar dropped from 128 to 88. I went from 190lbs to 150lbs from January to February. I started lifting and doing an hour of cardio every day beginning in March. In the past I've had 2 left shoulder dislocations and had a torn rotator cuff repair 2 years ago. I also have 2 broken vertebrae at L3 & L4 with the left transverse process broken totally off both and a herniated disc in between them.
I was hoping to be able to bench 250lbs again and would have been good with that considering my shoulder injuries. What happened was by July I was able to bench 425lbs. I never expected that! This is still with no gear ever. I deep squat several times a week heavy but have not gone over 350lbs for reps because of the pressure on my lower back. I can leg press over 500lbs all night long.
Anyway, enough trumpet blowing. I simply appreciate a forum where there is a wide range of expertise. My goals are simple, I'm not looking to get terribly huge but wouldn't mind a little more size and a lean muscle look. However, since strength is my forte my goals have changed and I'm looking to hit 500lb's on the bench press as a personal goal sometime next year and that's the basis I want to go with for any gear.
I appreciate any suggestions. I was looking at a first cycle maybe a straight 400-500mg/week of test e or cyp (my doctor will give me PRN cyp if I want it). Then looking ahead at a 2nd cycle based around tren.
I want to stay light on dosages and want to get recommendations for a tren/test/d-bol cycle. What about adding anavar somewhere in the cycle? Thanks for the input.
