Quick background:
When I joined the forum, I had convinced myself that I was going to run an oral only cycle, mostly for the convenience. Was looking at running Anavar 50mg ED for 8 weeks followed by PCT. After doing searches and looking at old threads, it seems that a maintenance test dose during the cycle will maximize the gains. I have trained natural since I was 22 (I am 33 now). I am a classic ectomorph hard gainer. When I started training, I was 6'1/2 tall and 145. Over 10 years of hard training, creatine, lots of protein shakes, and trial and error (mostly error.....spent the first year doing mostly curls and bench), I got up to 188 while keeping my bf in check. About 18 months ago I separated my shoulder doing incline presses, which required surgery and six months of rehab before I got back in the gym. After 3 months back from rehab, I broke my hand playing basketball, which required another surgery and more rehab. Finally all cleared and fully healed. Today, I am at 155, probably 9% bf, and honestly......I am impatient. 6 months of training has gotten me 5lbs, but I have stalled a bit. Eating enough has always been the hardest part for me. When I don't train my appetite plummets, and I drop weight quickly. (Which is why I dropped so much after surgery). I spent so much time and hard work in the gym to get where I was. My clothes don't fit, I am putting up a fraction of the weight I used to....just frustrating. And I am not 22 anymore, I am married with kids......I will save the sob story ......
What I would like to get out of a cycle is 8-10 lbs of lean muscle tissue. I am concerned about hair loss, which is what started my research on Var. Here is the cycle I am looking at that I found in an old thread here:

Test Prop 50mg EOD Weeks 1-8
Clomid 50mg ED Weeks 9-11
The other recommendation was taking multiple grams of Tribulus instead of the Test Prop, but I don't think there is any replacement for the Test.
What appeals to me is that Var seems to have a rep for maintaining what I gain post cycle, easy on the hairline, and a slow builder. I don't have plans of running multiple cycles to get huge. I hope this to be one and done, but I know the slope is slippery......
Is the Test prop dose where it needs to be to maintain what I would normally produce? Is this going to cause me to shed since in theory i am only replacing instead of adding (I have taken Propecia for 10 years daily)? Should I go lower? Any advice and critiques are welcome.
