Not all 6.0 earthquakes are the same though. As a SoCal resident I am surprised how a 5.4 can feel more violent than a 6.0 depending on how and where the earthquake is created.

Very interesting to say the least.. But the fact of the matter is it just depends on where the tectonic plates are in conjunction with major metropolitan areas. I love America but science is science.
