I had my test checked 3x in the last few months to satisfy a doctors curiosity. He was nice enough to make sure my blood work was at their labs so about 10x the cost;) My test, fsh, and LH are super low for a 40 year old and I was given a green light for trt. I am seeing the doc this week about it and From what I've read injections are far superior... if I was to be persuasive ... Would there be any suggestions as to specifics to ask for? I'm Not really even sure what is on the table for them... I have researched this subject but thought I'd throw it out there to see of there are good recommendations.
 
You can specify that you have loved ones (wife, children, nieces, etc) that you couldn't feel safe using the gel around because of the risk of transfer. Also tell him the cost is too much. Let him know you would be comfortable with injections and in fact prefer it and see what he says

No worries. Since you did extensive testing ask about your igf levels see if you qualify for somatropin (depending on insurance).
 
thats good advice...also he might try and only do shots once a month or every 2 wks...opt for every week...a good starting point is 100mg and max for most dr.s is 200mg ew pending ur bloodwork ..i do 200mg ew and test levels are at 783 7 days after pin.. i feel good here....they started me at 100mg eow and it sucked.....was worse then when i was low to begin with...rollercoaster of a ride it was....my dr. doesnt believe in a/i's or even checking estrogen so makes sure your dr. has some knowledge on the therapy...im searching for someone as we speak.....
 
Also see if you can self inject if you choose. Some docs from what I hear want you to come in once a week. Mine allows me to get my bottle of waston cyp from my local CVS.
 
Thanks for the advice guys. I'm 39, 5'11" 230 in good shape from years of lifting but felt like I couldn't recover about 7 months ago no matter how I tweaked my diet and supplements( aminos/ protein). So made the call to see the doc. Of the three separate tests I took the highest level of test was 202. The lowest was 178. That's like having the sack of an 80 year old man. Any improvement would be huge in that department.
 
@ unlisted. Thanks for the number breakdown. I will be sure to keep that in mind when discussing this. @irish and damgar : like to hear that some doctors let you inject at home. That would Certainly be ideal.

If he insists on gel fill the script and tell him iys burning your skin and cant use it.
 
update.. So had the appointment today...the doctor is a back peddler and pretty much said he didn't want responsibility for anything.. So brush it off to an endocrinologist. .I told him that is fine and do not bother. It is cheaper and easier for me to self Medicate so thanks anyway for not doing your job. I understand why they'd ask for a specialist if there was a "special" problem. But low prolactin, low LH, and low free test ( my latest score was 128!!!!) all equals show me the testosterone!! Not let's talk about our feelings a little first here! Haha. Sorry. Super irritating and more then you can imagine frustrated. Some places are flat handing it out like candy. Not where I go. You have to have a note from congress or something..
 
For the record I'd prefer a doctor to a clinic. My trt doc knows his shit but I could by Pharma grade gear and rmblastvyear round for what they charge for two bottles of test and a handful of adex for a year, with no support.
 
Finding a good doc is tough, the clinics are a joke and they both charge way too much for what they do. I won't say how much I spent in one year but it was a shit ton. I went with UG labs because the docs fuck around too much, aren't as knowledgable as bros on forums and it's cheaper even taking into account getting ripped off by labs that folded.

Going on trt was best decision. I recently got busy with work, slacked, ran out of meds and saw what I used to look and feel like staring me in the mirror. Not pretty. I'm back on this week thanks to my new friends at AMA.. Can't wait to get that ole swagger back...neither can the misses.
