What is the affect caffeine has on testosterone? Can taking lots of preworkouts lower my testosterone levels? I was watching a documentary on food. They mentioned caffeine releases massive amounts of cortisol into the body. I love all pre workouts. I need them everyday. I was wondering if taking them reduces the testosterone in your body or affects testosterone in a negative way?

Instead of wondering get a hormone panel and see if it actually is low.

Your body gets used to caffeine, QUICK.

Try weening yourself off all the stims, that way when you REALLY need a boost it has some kick.

I just want to know if it lowers testosterone. If it doesn't then Ill keep taking it. I got a blood work done and its in normal range. But I am trying to maximize it. After all I am taking it to train harder but if its hindering my gains there would be no point.

Yeah caffeine doesn't work as well as it used to....but it still works. So I stack it with Adderall. Gets me hyper focused. It acts as an anti depressant to. I can work out for hours and Ill enjoy it so much I wont want to stop.
I just want to know if it lowers testosterone. Not if i should take it or not. Ive been addicted for 3 years. Stopping will be very difficult. But if i know its worth it, or if i have a goal of increasing testosterone it would keep me motivated to stay off. But otherwise the benefits still highly outweigh the cost.

What about overall health concerns? A constant stream of stims can't be good for you.

I think you need to get a grip on reality, stop taking all kinds of shit, get on a solid weightlifting routine, and diet, get some sleep, and stick to it for a couple of years.

I'm pretty certain most stims don't effect testosterone enough to have any marked decrease. For me... and i take stims on and off... kills my appetite. Which would directly effect your gains, regardless of the amount of test your using

Caffeine can increase your testosterone levels but it always comes with side effects as you are already addicted to it so better try avoiding it slowly.

yeah i just read an article that said testosterone increased from 15% to 21% using 800mg pre workout. Ill find the link

And no Ive never used this much. The amount I use is Like 200-300 mg. Just enough for a kick start. But sometimes ill take a little more mabye 200mg like 3hr later if i really need it. I never really go over 500 mg.

Its funny people are telling me I should stop but no one ever asked what my dosage was or how often i take it. usually its everyday 150-300mg. but i do take 2-3 day breaks if i dont need it

METHODS:Twenty-four professional rugby-league players ingested caffeine doses of 0, 200, 400, and 800 mg in random order 1 hr before a resistance-exercise session. Saliva was sampled at the time of caffeine ingestion, at 15-min intervals throughout each session, and 15 and 30 min after the session. Data were log-transformed to estimate percent effects with mixed modeling, and effects were standardized to assess magnitudes.
RESULTS:Testosterone concentration showed a small increase of 15% (90% confidence limits, +/- 19%) during exercise. Caffeine raised this concentration in a dose-dependent manner by a further small 21% (+/- 24%) at the highest dose. The 800-mg dose also produced a moderate 52% (+/- 44%) increase in cortisol. The effect of caffeine on the testosterone:cortisol ratio was a small decline (14%; +/- 21%).
CONCLUSION:Caffeine has some potential to benefit training outcomes via the anabolic effects of the increase in testosterone concentration, but this benefit might be counteracted by the opposing catabolic effects of the increase in cortisol and resultant decline in the testosterone:cortisol rati"
