Get Shredded!
just got back from the doc and my BP was high, 150/90. it was a stress test of sorts. he said my working heart rate was outstanding (111bpm) and i look like im healthy and in great shape (doc looked confused). i had a 300mg of caffine in the morning that may have elevated it. possible a bit nervous too.

i have been reading around the forums and seems like people are taking cialis for BP. ?

how well does hawthorn berry really work? any thing else i could try? it would be embarrassing to be on BP meds at my age and condition.

currently on 400mg of test, and 75mg of raloxifene.
eat a pretty clean balanced diet, i do add a pinch of salt here and there. i rarely eat fast food, but do have a few beers once a week.

plan to schedule blood work soon and gonna try to donate this week also.

thanks!

Watch your diet and sodium intake-drink a gallon of water daily- might add one aspirin per day and there is several things you can take OTC. My BP elavates extreme from caffiene so u might drop that and see if makes a differance. I am sure others will add their favorite remedies- but the basics are diet ( no salt added) and water intake IMO-Luck-OD

Everything OD said plus when I add cardio three times a week it has a big impact on my blood pressure.

how big was the cuff? was it automatic or manual? how big are your arms?

if the cuff is too small, the reading goes up. automatic cuffs normally read high. bigger arms need bigger cuffs. these were the things i learned when i had a similar experience. i also found out i had hepatitis a.

there are a lot of things that can throw off bp readings.

They call it "White coat syndrom " and I get it . It's when you go to the docter and your BP goes crazy . You mentioned being nervous and the caffeine . I think anyone using AAS should have a BP meter at home and take regular readings the same time of day . Preferably on waking . That way you get an average over time . Then you'll really know where you are . Cardio is a must and will improve almost anyone's BP . The gallon of water and a clean diet it all plays very important roles . Unless you have a medical condition causing high BP most cases it is related to lifestyle .

Look, for fuck sake....if you are grown up enough to use AAS then you should be grown up enough to take your ass to the goddamn pharmacy and buy a home BP monitor. They are like $30 for a good one. Getting your BP checked at the doctors is bullshit. Nerves = elevated BP. 300mg of caffeine = definitely elevated BP. Fuck me, getting up and walking into the room = elevated BP. How the fuck are you supposed to get a true reading....a true resting BP when you have just walked into an exam room, or have had caffeine, or are nervous?? Seriously? Your BP can fluctuate as much as 30 points on top and bottom every 30 seconds.
Use the monitor you are going to buy and check your BP the way you should. RESTING. in the evening or whenever you have been sitting chilling out for 30 minutes. Then have it close by so you can reach it. If you have to get up and get it then you just fucked the whole test up. When you do check it, check it 3 times in a row to get an average.
Fuck me I get sick of guys using AAS and not owning a BP monitor. You have two kidneys, Two eyes, two testicles, you can also live with a partial liver.... you have two lungs....you have ONE HEART take care of the goddamn thing!

what type of monitor do you use? my auto cuff doesn't work correctly on my not-big 17" arms.

are you using a wrist cuff?

I just have a wrist unit. Paid $40 for it like 12 years ago. Still works like a charm. My BP is always around 125/65 when off AAS. 132/72 right now on low dose test. I do not get White coat syndrom in any way and my BP is always lower at the doc by a couple points. Not a ton though. So it tells me that my unit might read 2-3 points high. Thats fine with me. At least you can still get an idea and know if your BP is G2G or getting out of hand.

Great advice by everyone else in the thread also. Donating and asprin will definitely geth things more under control quickly. I would wager the OP's BP is fine though. Combination of circumstances he had = 150/90

I bought my Bp monitor at Target. There are two arm cuffs large and small. Large is up to 18 inch. Hawthorne Berry is good. Drink plenty of water, down side you pee like a race horse.

Two best natural way to fight hbp is celery and watermelon. I snack on celery all day and watermelon once or twice if In season after a meal.

My BP got up to 155 over 110. Naturally with cardio, water and what I just mentioned is now 107 over 68. Still eat out once Ina while and use salt here and there.

IML Gear Cream!
well big thanks to all who replied!! you guys are the great!

just got back from the doc and they tested it a few times. got down to 130/82! turns out i did have white coat syndrome (somthing i never heard of until today) and needed a bigger cuff. all is good for now. gonna take the advice of BTC and scoop up an at home unit. also adding cardio post workout now.

thanks again.

good deal. i'm glad you got checked out and are going to keep an eye out for issues in the future.

i just tried my shitty cuff --> 156/97

then i got my roommate to check me (army medic) --> 135/80

At home my BP was 130s/70s before heading to doctor.

Went to doctor and BP was 150/90 just before prostate exam. Need I say more.......

Caffeine could have had something to do with it but the anxiety of being at the Dr. 'S office could play a part too. I had the same problem and the Dr. Told me to relax, 20 min later my BP was perfect !
