Test P. is known to be freely soluble in diethyl ether ("Ether"). (Source: http://www.drugfuture.com/chemdata/testosterone.html). It's also known that Tren A ("TBA") is soulble in ether to a 1g:9ml ratio (9 ml of ether will completely dissolve 1 gram of TBA at room temperature. Source: http://www.fda.gov/ucm/groups/fdagov-public/@fdagov-av-gen/documents/document/ucm072285.pdf)

Estradiol B., the undesired molecule, is nearly insoluble in ether (Source: http://www.drugfuture.com/Pharmacopoeia/USP32/pub/data/v32270/usp32nf27s0_alpha-2-14.html).

Thus we have two desired target molecules (test & tren) that are reasonably soluble in this organic solvent, yet the gakk molecule (estradiol) is almost completely insoluble in it. Sounds like ether can be used to extract the test and tren from cattle implants, no? And with little knowledge needed of the actual chemistry behind the extraction!

The singular reason why I'm posting this thread is that I have not found any work-ups that instruct the clandestine AAS chemist to extract the goods from cattle pellets using ether. I wonder why not! Does anyone here know why ether has yet to be used in a well-known and well-tried work-up to extract the goods from the gakk?
Has anyone here tried ether himself?

Furthermore, I've read here and elsewhere that people have been basifying (usually using sodium hydroxide or similar strong base) test & tren from the pellets as part of a work-up to dispose of the estradiol. I don't see what good this will do; estradiol will deprotonate right along with the test and tren, yielding a little cauldron of three deprotonated hormones! Prey tell, what exactly does basifying the pellets do exactly for the aim of getting rid of the estradiol? I've read all the stuff at basskiller and tons of other info, yet chemically, the estradiol must still making it through the A/B extraction process!

I have yet to make my first batch of home brew. I can use some info on how to go about it. What I really must know is the role sodium hydroxide plays in the extraction process. I am fluent in organic chemistry, so the more technical your replies, the better.

Thanks in advance, guys...
