Maybe ask your doctor. My A1C was on the higher range of normal and my glucose was ok. Doc gave me a prescription for Metformin. $10 for a 90 day supply at Walmart. He indicated that studies suggest it helps with a lot of other things.
 
I would be using it for the GDA properties and I wish it was that simple. My doc will barely let me get another checkup because I got June 6 months ago haha...
