Felt a pop and a crack in my left shoulder well doing flat bench... Ive been having minor pain there but nothing painful. I took the last 3 weeks to go to light on my shoulders and it felt fine till i decided to go heavy on flat bench and right when I got the bar off the rack i felt a shift movement and crack its been killing me only on certain movements... And I have no insurance so what should i do I have no experince with shoulder injurys, ive been icing it and poping ibuprofen...:hmm:

You know what everyone is going to say. Go to the doctor! Go to the ER, they will treat you. They will let you make payments for services. I know you don't want to do that but you need to take care of yourself.

Hey brother! Shit, sorry to hear about ur shoulder man. I've had occasional shoulder issues myself but nothing too serious .... usually rest, some good food, ice and the occasional epsom salts bath really helps. The popping sound would make me say go to a dr and have it looked at, but if u don't have insurance just give it a good rest bro. Like a week, honestly. And I'd avoid lifting "heavy" bro ... thats typically how most people get injured and unless ur a power lifter theres really no reason to go super heavy. Personally, I get the most sore when I'm using a weight where I can barely get 12 reps.... and I hardly ever go heavier than a weight where I can only get 6 reps. Load up on multi-vitamins, Vitamin C, high protein meals and lots of water and give that thing some rest so it can heal. Hopefully its just some inflammation and nothing serious.

ya i wasnt aware of that.... didnt kno you could make payments...

lil update I went to the hospital last nite waited like 5 hours on my visit... Saw a dr he was smart cool guy... And he asked the questions related to my injury i told him ive been dealing my left shoulder problem for about a year now on and off minor pain but it goes away fairly quickly... He gave me some movements to do out stretched arm with my thumb up and upside stuff like that nothing serious lil discomfort... Out of the 10 test gave me only 3 hurt not bad but def felt it... The pain is coming from my front delt area... And the xrays he took didnt really show much some bruising... He said keep it active so it doesnt tighten up and baby it... And no more flat benching workout around your chest if u have to.... And its feeling a lil better today its day by day recovery and gotta smart cant go heavy no more or gotta develop better form

Glad to hear its nothing serious bro! Shoulder surgery sucks from what I hear. U should hit up AY for her shoulder rehab workout ... I remember her talking about it a while back in a thread ... she said it works like a charm! A bunch of light dumbell work ... give her a holler, I'm sure she'd be more thsn happy to help u out.

I had a similar situation years ago. I have sworn of flat bench all together. Decline and incline only. I still go hard and heavy and have had not a single issue since. Are you a taller fella?

I had the same thing happen to me while flat bench warm up with only 135, it sounded like a crack then I could barely get the bar off my chest. I couldn't lift for almost a year then I started back with 35 lb dumbbells, now Im almost back to normal. Dumbells are so much easier on the joints.

Shoulders are surgery or bust for the most part. As a former shoulder implant specialist and a current ICU nurse.. My advice is let it rest, take anti-inflammatories, and be gentle on it for a year or so. If you foot the bill for a doctors visit and MRI they will want to operate, or if not, then tell you rest and anti-inflammatories.

IML Gear Cream!
He just said rest it as much as possible.... its getting better still weak and i can move it all around but on certain raises i feel the pain when arms out stretched... Still better than it was upon injury it... Just gotta take it easy... And still here minor cracking in both shoulders but no pain really thats normal?

I had the same thing happen to me in April from flat bench... Turned out to be a shoulder impingement. Might be worth a google search to see if you have the symptoms.
